Thylen BL-SW-150L-3m² (V) Alu or Cu
SOLAR SYSTEMS
¨Thylen¨ solar systems are manufactured using excellent quality materials and modern assembly techniques.
The manufacture quality, modern production equipment, highly trained staff and international certifications guarantee the high quality of our systems.
They are applied to roofs, tile roofs and any other surface, having the ability to cover the demand of hot water winter/summer.
“THYLEN” solar systems are consisted of hot water cylinders “BL-S” “BL-SW” “BL-DW” “BL-ER and solar panels “TH.S.P”.
Cylinders
The cylinder role in a system is important. It is used to store hot water produced by solar panels or other energy sources (boiler, electrical resistance) that is converted to heat.
All cylinders “BL-S”, “BL-SW”, “BL-DW”, and “BL-ER” bear the CE marking that certifies and guarantees their safe use.
The construction of the cylinders is composed of pure deoxidised copper foil
bonded robotic technology.
For internal insulation ecological polyurethane insulation thermal conductivity k = 0,023 w / mk, density p = 40kg / m³ are used, and resistance to fire class: B3, which ensures heat retention even at very low temperatures.
The cylinder casing is made of stainless steel or pre-painted galvanised steel to protect the insulation and longevity of the internal tank of hot water.
Monophonic electrical resistance (elements) 3kw is used on the cylinders. In case of insufficient sunshine it is possible to use more than one electrical resistance (elements).
It is possible to place coil on the cylinders for the circulation of thermal fluid from the boiler of the central heating or solar system. Where necessary a second coil is used on the same cylinder.
During the construction of the cylinder, hydraulic pressure control is made on the 10 atmospheres (bar).
All types of cylinders “BL-S”, “BL-SW”, “BL-DW”, and “BL-ER” bear a warranty.
COLLECTORS
Solar panels are the most important element in a solar system. For this reason Antoniou & Christou Company Ltd (¨ΘΗλΕΝ¨) is continuously investing in machinery or raw materials relating to their construction.
ΘΗλΕΝ¨ company manufactures three different frame sizes,
( TH.S.P 1,4m², TH.S.P 1,9m², TH.S.P 2,4m²) in vertical or horizontal format.
¨TH.S.P¨ panels due to their building quality and high performance levels have the ability to heat water in conditions of reduced sunlight and thus save energy.
TH.S.P 1,5m², TH.S.P 2m², TH.S.P 2,4m² frames are manufactured , externally from anodised aluminium rich in magnesium for durability.
Thermal insulation at the bottom of the drams is consisted of thermal conductivity rock wool λ=0,042w/mk class A1 (EN-13501-1) and the lateral insulation compiles fibreglass thermal conductivity λ=0,035w/mk class A1 (EN-13501-1).
The construction of single selective surface (copper or aluminium) is made with the use of robotic technology machines (ultrasound).
For the production of the frame ¨TH.S.P¨ a special protective glass is used (tempered class) low sodium (fe) and specific transmittance Tr = 0,912 ÷0,920 (EN1096-2).
Pressure control in 12 atmospheres (bar) is made during the construction of the panels.
Our company manufactures panels certified by the European quality certificate “Solar Keymark” (ΕΝ 12975:2006).
All ¨TH.S.P¨ panels bear a warranty.

General Instruction Instructions
Before mounting the solar system, the customer agrees with the manufacturer the kind of solar system preferred. At the same time all the necessary details for proper installation of the system such as time and location are agreed.
Once the customer agrees with the manufacturer, the installer should visit the location of the system to measure the dimensions of the structure and then proceed.
For the best performance of the solar system, the solar panel should be placed in the right place to avoid any malfunctions in the near future.
It is essential that the manufacturer has in mind that the proper performance of the solar system only works when the heater is facing south for northern hemisphere and north to the southern hemisphere. It is important that the solar system is not shaded by trees or other obstacles.
The installation of the solar system must be based on the terms of the Agreement and in accordance with the local electrical and plumbing regulations.
If the water heater must be installed on the roof where the inclination angle is less than 15 ° or greater than 32 °, it is necessary to use a different standard equipment of the base of the device, similar to that used in areas that are prone to cyclones, thunderstorms and strong winds.
In areas with heavy snowfall and the temperature often goes down below 0 °, a closed circuit system should be selected.
Caution is required during the filling and connection of the closed circuit. Only qualified technicians can carry out this process. Please note that before filling the closed circuit with the thermal fluid it is first needed to completely fill the water tank.
Both tubes of the solar system and the pipes of hot and cold water should be well insulated and in good condition so that the system operates correctly.
After the heater has been installed in the right place, the installer should be careful how to fill and properly connect the circuit.
The electrical connection system (element) should always be used after filling the cylinder to avoid any damage to the electrical component (element).
For changing the electrical resistance (element) firstly the cylinder should empty and then subtract the resistance and install a new one and finally begin the process of filling the cylinder. During the filling do a visual check for leakage. If there is then we take the necessary procedures to avoid the leaking and the cylinder is ready for operation.
The manufacturer is free from any kind of damage that can occur after installing the system especially if the installer is not the one who will apply it. Responsible can be any plumber that has agreed with the client to install the solar system. The manufacturer declines any responsibility and neither the warranty is at force.
Before installing the solar water heater must:
- Find the correct mounting position of the solar system .
- The position that you choose must not obscuring the solar water heater collector by trees or other obstacles.
- The installation is done in accordance with electrical and plumbing regulations .
- For best performance , the heater should be facing the south and where it is not feasible at the correct orientation, we can move a little bit to the east or the west.
- The correct inclination of the heater must be not less than 20 and greater than 45 degrees.
- For the safe installation of solar panels on sloping roofs a necessary support base to be placed in so that the tank is located directly over a beam and no way between two beams .
The hot water pipes should be well insulated.
Guidelines to avoid dangerous situations and product protection
In all plumbing connections should be used hemp or Teflon. Before turn on the electrical resistance must fill the water tank with water and bleed air from a hot water tap .
The specific heat transfer fluid must be placed in the closed circuit, after dissolved in water.
Under no circumstances should remove the panels from the packaging until you fill the closed circuit with special thermal fluid as this can cause breakage of the collector pane.
After you have done the necessary plumbing and electrical connections and checking for leaks, open a hot water tap until we have full water flow.
Immediately after we remove the cardboard packaging from panels. System will start to work automatically .
The system requires some time to reach maximum performance . The time is approximately 2-3 days after installation and in combination with full sunshine .
It is also important to limit the hot water demand for the first one or two days in order to have a better functioning of the system for their excellent performance in the long run .
Protect the connections and pipes with proper insulation , according to the temperature requirements of each region .
In case of vacation of the closed circuit collectors must be covered .
The closed- type water heaters that operate at lower pressure of 0,6 MPa, during installation requires mounting pressure reducer
In closed type water heaters have a safety valve , water can be removed from the valve and the opening should be free to atmospheric pressure and must not be fitted plug.
In closed type water heaters have a safety valve should be checked regularly to avoid the obsolescence of its operations from the accretion of salt water .
The closed- type water heaters should be labeled to indicate the manner in which it becomes the evacuation of water from these
In case of closed type with heat exchanger , in the instructions it should be mentioned directives regulating temperature to avoid interruption – Non operation of thermostat from heat exchanger .
CAUTION :
- The device should not be used by children or persons with reduced physical , sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge , unless supervised or have been instructed on the use of the appliance by a responsible person.
- Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance
